(A) Revised flag since 2007. Country Code "GEO" continued.
(B) Country code changed to "GE" in 2010.
(A) "EMS-050" was on an ambulance (Emergency Medical Services = EMS) although it is not clear if this was a registration reserved for ambulances in the 2010 series or merely a personalized (on request) registration.(B) "AA-921-DD" was on a police car. However, police cars and motorcycles use standard general issue passenger and motocycle registrations so this is probably not a special registration reserved for police vehicles. On the other hand, "SP-121-SP" is reserved for Security Police.
(C) "Police" (in Georgian script) was mounted on an AWD in Sighnaghi with no other plate. The significance of this plate is unclear.
Abkhazia, an autonomous republic, is politically and geographically part of Georgia.
It is issuing its own distinctive plates since 2006 but they may not be used outside Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Russia.
